It also features Bluetooth, GPS, and a 5-megapixel camera, and comes with the latest Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) or Windows Embedded Handheld 6.5 operating system.

With support for network RTK corrections, the S320 network rover is an integrated solution that simplifies land surveying applications by eliminating the need for a base station and radio modem. Hemisphere GPS' XF2 next generation data collector combined with Carlson SurvCE software provides a familiar and proven interface to the S320. The two products communicate through a Bluetooth wireless connection and attach to a standard survey pole making the system very portable and simple to operate.

The Vector VS330 and Vector VS131 GPS compass products provide high performance heading, position, heave, and attitude data. Vector VS330 computes heading information with better than 0.01 degrees accuracy when using a ten meter antenna separation. Positioning accuracy is better than 1 centimeter in RTK mode or 4 centimeters when using OmniSTAR HP corrections. Combining Hemisphere GPS' Crescent Vector and LX-2 receivers with two separate antennas, the Vector VS131 computes heading information with better than 0.03 degrees accuracy when using a five meter antenna separation and better than 50 centimeter position accuracy when using L-band, SBAS, or beacon corrections.

Users can now directly connect point cloud data with other spatial data sources (such as 3D models) and readily share and re-use modeled data. Leica Cyclone 8.0 is being introduced at Intergeo as supporting software for the new Leica ScanStation P20 ultra-high speed laser scanner.

The UltraCam Falcon captures PAN, color and NIR data all in one pass. Its image footprint capacity is 14,430 pixels across. At the time of purchase, the buyer selects between two lens focal lengths, the standard 100mm Pan or wide angle 70mm Pan. Both configurations leverage the impressive computing, storage, and electronics available in the ultra-large UltraCam Eagle. To simplify operations, the UltraCam Falcon is designed as an integrated unit that contains all components in the sensor head.

The XDL Rover is a lightweight, ruggedized UHF receiver designed for digital radio communications between 403 and 473 MHz in either 12.5 or 25 kHz channels. The radio uses Pacific Crest’s latest generation XDL modem technology while remaining backward compatible with existing Pacific Crest products. Using the latest modem technology from Pacific Crest, users can instantly communicate with GNSS precise positioning receivers that share the same protocols throughout the world.
The LMS-Q780 long range airborne laser scanner has an operating flight altitude of up to 10,000 ft at 100 kHz laser pulse repetition rate (PRR). An innovative of this instrument is the automated resolution of range ambiguities, typically occurring at large measurement ranges and high repetition rates. This technique allows a maximum measurement range of 2450 m at a PRR of 400 kHz and a target reflectivity of 20 percent. Up to nine laser pulses and their corresponding echoes can be on their way between laser scanner and ground targets simultaneously, vastly improving data acquisition efficiency.

The ProMark 120 and ProMark 220 GNSS receivers are equipped with an updated hardware platform that includes the latest Ashtech GNSS chipset with Z-Blade GNSS-centric technology. In addition, both come with the Microsoft Windows Embedded Handheld 6.5 Professional operating system, which includes a language provisioning capability permitting customers to select locale-specific settings, such as language and calendar types. The ProMark 120 features enhanced ProMark Field software v3.0 for a versatile and easy-to-use post-processing solution. The ProMark 220 features an internal L2 GLONASS capability that further strengthens the RTK performance of this robust dual-frequency and dual constellation network RTK rover.

Topcon's new IP-S2 Compact+ vehicle-mounted system has improved scanner orientation to optimize visibility of roadside assets, and is packaged in an affordable, compact system that fits on a car or truck. The system is available in two configurations: a three-scanner standard model, which gives a 360° vertical field of view; or a five-scanner system, which increases cloud density, minimizes scanning shades and collects 150,000 points per second with a range of 40-50m.
Topcon’s patented Vanguard technology features Universal Tracking technology and 226 channels available to track all current and upcoming GNSS constellations. The new HiPer SR, pictured here, is an advanced GNSS RTK receiver based around Vanguard technology, with a compact and lightweight design. Vanguard is also being integrated into additional Topcon and Sokkia GNSS receivers.

eCognition enables geospatial data such as images, point clouds and GIS vectors to be integrated and analyzed to quantify features or detect changes over time. eCognition 8.8 now extends these capabilities for mobile terrestrial data collection applications. The eCognition 8.8 functionality also drives embedded analysis routines within Trimble Trident Analyst 5.0 software. Trident Analyst manages and interprets high-resolution digital images and large point clouds, and automatically extracts features from terrestrial mobile mapping data.

Capable of producing full-resolution, ortho-rectified imagery in real time with In-FlightOrtho technology, the Trimble Digital Sensor System (DSS) is designed as a high-productivity, mapping-grade solution for color orthophoto and vertical mapping applications.

Inpho 5.5 includes Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) data processing and LPMaster, a new software product specifically designed for the production of Trimble Harrier aerial LiDAR and imaging data. The software introduces techniques specifically designed to manage UAS image characteristics, tackling challenges with camera calibration and image quality. It also features the ability to automatically create an Inpho project from Trimble Gatewing data. As a result, UAS users, particularly Trimble Gatewing customers, will gain access to the high-quality photogrammetric processing that Inpho has offered within aerial survey.
As a small and light receiver, the Trimble R10 combines powerful features and technologies including Trimble HD-GNSS, Trimble SurePoint, Trimble 360 and Trimble xFill to provide increased productivity. User-friendly features such as a quick-release adaptor and the ability to configure the receiver from a smart phone make it easy to deploy and use as a base station or rover. Trimble will be holding a virtual broadcast on Oct. 23 as they officially unveil the Trimble R10 GNSS System.
The Trimble TX5 is a versatile 3D laser scanning solution. It is able to measure at speeds of up to 976,000 points per second, up to a range of 120 meters. The compact and lightweight design provides flexibility and portability around the job site, increasing field productivity. It features an intuitive and easy-to-use onboard interface. Data from the Trimble TX5 is processed in the SCENE software suite. Data from SCENE can be seamlessly imported into Trimble RealWorks software for the creation of additional end deliverables or transferred to 3D design packages for further application.
INTERGEO 2012 took place Oct. 9-11 in Hannover, Germany. With more than 500 exhibitors and an estimated 16,000 visitors, the show highlights some of the latest innovations in geodesy, geoinformation and land management.
